Just around the corner from my house in Baltimore is a street called Fait Avenue. At the top of Fait Avenue is a huge hill from which the entire city skyline is visible. Growing up, it was a place to hang out. But now, looking back, it has evolved into something much more than that. I remember the sun. It would rise at eye-level and set at your feet, sometimes sinking so low, you would swear you could touch it.

I remember being 12 years-old, riding my bike, poised at the top of the hill. On the way down, I would never pedal, instead I would just let the momentum take over until I hit the first stop sign at the bottom. Then, six years later in high school, I was still on fait avenue. The bike was now upgraded to a car. I can remember slowly creeping to the edge in my CRX stick shift feeling like I was on top of the world.

Now here I am again poised on top of a different hill, bigger and grander. Only this time I am looking out at my life, my future, my FATE. This is my life, and I have been slowly creeping up to the top, nearing that edge, ready to let gravity takeover, to plunge me into the future, building unstoppable momentum. This is FATE Ave.
