This painting began as a thought experiment by the artist. It started with random strokes, marks and drips on the canvas, and like a patch of clouds, if you stare at them long enough, shapes and figures began to emerge from the haphazard splashes of paint on the canvas. It was not until the very end that the artist realized that he was painting a large fish, which became a acronym for the title Go F.I.S.H.: Go Find It Stop Hiding.
The artist began without any preconceived notions and from random, spontaneous marks on the canvas extracted what was lurking behind the melange of colors, a gigantic fish. Now look again closer. Other viewers have reported seeing a cowboy, a bird, a snake, a person or two and more. What can you find concealed within the image?
Inevitably, the title of the painting becomes a metaphor for life. The solution to every problem exists before we find it. All to often it is there waiting for us. Whether it be your dreams, your job, your soul mate, whatever it is, Go Find It Stop Hiding.
