Corporate America uses sex and beauty to manipulate the young and impressionable. They don't want intelligent, strong-minded, independent woman. They want blind sheep, more concerned with the status of their wool.

The stage in the background represents the "platform", whether it be TV, magazines, radio, or hollywood. Every play has a setting, and She is the main character. Front and center, the half faced girl represents the outside self she is forced to portray, the commercially fabricated idea of "Beauty".

Then comes the figure which encompasses her face; representing how she feels...a little ugly, a little chubby; not what the world sees. She's apprehensive; aware of the image she is expected to project. Many times, its "staged"; a forced smile on an empty stomach, or reapplied makeup because her tears washed off the first coat in the bathroom.

I only give you half of her face, because she is only half there, mentally and physically. The single eye represents those who control the outlets which constantly push the superficial life she has fallen in love with.

Our woman are precious flowers; delicate yet integral to our existence. The flowers here represent the stages she goes through, and each time, the flower is a little smaller, slowing dying and drying up, like her self esteem and dreams.

Inside she breaks apart, and the faces and profiles around her are the random people on the street, just walking by while it all goes down, oblivious to her struggles she faces everyday.
